Electrical Panel Upgrades

Upgrade your home's electrical capacity with Arizona's trusted panel experts

Electrical Panel Upgrades in Arizona

Is your home still running on a 100-amp panel from the 1980s? Adding a generator, EV charger, pool equipment, or home addition often requires more electrical capacity than older panels can safely provide. One Way Electric has completed over 6,800 panel upgrades across Arizona since 1995.

As a licensed electrical contractor (ROC #158103 CR-11), we handle the complete upgrade process including utility coordination, permits, inspections, and final documentation. Our 30+ years of experience means we've seen every panel configuration and know how to upgrade them safely and efficiently.

Signs You Need a Panel Upgrade

  • Tripping breakers - Frequent trips indicate your panel can't handle current loads
  • Outdated equipment - Federal Pacific, Zinsco, and some older brands have known safety issues
  • Adding major appliances - Generators, EV chargers, and HVAC systems need dedicated circuits
  • Visible damage - Rust, burn marks, or melted plastic require immediate attention
  • No GFCI/AFCI protection - Modern code requires arc-fault and ground-fault breakers in most locations
  • Home renovation - Additions, kitchen remodels, and shop conversions often exceed existing capacity

Panel Upgrade Options

100 Amp to 200 Amp Upgrade

The most common upgrade for Arizona homes. A 200-amp panel provides enough capacity for modern families with multiple air conditioning units, kitchen appliances, home offices, and future additions like EV chargers or generators.

200 Amp to 400 Amp Upgrade

Larger homes, workshops, and properties with pools, spas, and multiple HVAC systems may need 400-amp service. We install dual 200-amp panels or dedicated 400-amp equipment depending on your utility and site requirements.

600 Amp Upgrade

Very large homes, businesses, workshops, and properties with multiple high-load appliances, pools, spas, and multiple HVAC systems may need 600-amp service.

Sub-Panel Installation

Adding a detached garage, casita, or workshop? A sub-panel extends power to new structures without replacing your main panel. We size and install sub-panels to match your specific needs.

Our Panel Upgrade Process

  1. Inspection & Assessment - We evaluate your current panel, review your electrical needs, and recommend the right upgrade path.
  2. Detailed Quote - You receive a written estimate covering all work, materials, permits, and utility coordination.
  3. Permit & Utility Coordination - We pull permits and schedule the utility meter disconnect/reconnect. This step typically takes 2-3 weeks.
  4. Installation Day - Our licensed electricians remove the old panel, install new equipment, and complete all wiring. Most upgrades complete in one day.
  5. Inspection & Reconnection - We schedule city inspection and utility reconnection. You receive documentation of all work performed.
